My Pledge to Fab

Published by DutchBitch at 8:16 am under Uncategorized

As some of you may know one of my popular fellow bloggers, Mr. Fabulous has been fucking up our ear drums entertaining us with his audioblogging. On several occassions we were treated to his fine voice reciting and sometimes even singing the most wonderful Fab-versions of well known songs. Of course, being the true blogging friends we are, we commended him on his efforts and encouraged him to keep going (well, not all of us, but some of us did). Little did we know he would actually take us up on that…

The other day he blogged about his trip to the mall with Mrs Fab and having bought a new audioblog program. He told us, his no-mattter-what-we-stick-by-Fab blogging friends, that we were all going to be sorry for encouraging him in the past.

Should that be considered a threat we saw him post on his blog? It was “retaliated” by amongst others my personal remark that HE was going to be sorry telling us about having bought a new audioblog program and that he had no idea how many requests would be coming his way. Fab felt it was necessary to tell me that he could not be accepting any requests from The Netherlands. Now, thát to me is discrimination of Dutchylicious wooden shoe bloggers, so I felt that I should not stay silent and I told him that he should in fact be really be thankful that I had never requested him to do an actual DUTCH song…

Fab’s reply: “Bring it on!”

Bring it on? Bring it ON?!! BRING IT ON!!??? I say? Can I resist such a “dare”… SHOULD I resist such a clear invitation? I say NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

So naturally I did not go against my nature (my shrink adviced me against that for safety purposes) and immediately commented that I welcomed his challenge. I let him know which song I would like him to perform on audioblog for me. It is Een beetje verliefd by André Hazes, who was one of the most famous Dutch singers. He passed away recently (just a little Dutch showbizz fact: his widow had his ashes tattood in her arm and the arm of their kids and the rest of it blown to heaven in a survival rocket/fireworks - don’t worry Fab, we are not all thát crazy…) and this particular song is actually one of his most well known ones. I think it suits Fab perfectly. To give you an idea of the “feel” of the song: it is about a lonely man in a bar, who starts talking to a woman sitting next to him in the bar. The woman at some point leaves, he thinks she is coming back but she isn’t. He sings about being “a little bit in love”, being left alone again and being lonely on his seat at the bar.

Of course I have promised Fab to make it worth his while: if he pulls it off in Dutch, matching up with the original tune as much as he can, I will send him a pair of wooden shoes in his size. I have also told him that if he takes me up on my challenge, I will pledge on my personal blog that I will do so.

See here: I have kept my first end of the bargain, I will be looking out for that wonderful Dutch audioblog by Fab! I can’t wait!

[Psssst: of course aside from the fact that I think that Mr Fab would sound heavenly sexy singing in Dutch, what I am reaaaaally after is obviously receiving a saucy picture of Fab wearing the wooden shoes ;-) But that's just between you and me. Don't tell him I told ya!]

Fabby! If you pull this one off you are my HERO for life!
