Persistence is a virtue
Apparently persistence does pay off… It has taken me years and years of retraining and brainwashing, and loads of whipcracking and jamming the stiletto heels in their asses… but now… finally… it seems like my bosses are somewhat starting to grasp the concept of Secretary Day…
Yeah, I know, like Valentine?s Day it is all commercial and shit, but it is still nice to get some token of appreciation, even though it is? STFU! So shoot me for enjoying being pampered every now and then!
A few years ago all of my then 8 bosses had forgotten about Secretary Day? totally? all of them? I reciprocated their wonderful display of contentment about my work with an email shortly before leaving the office asking them ?whether I could be reimbursed for the costs of having to hire a van to get all their tokens of appreciation home with me??
Years and years later, on this year?s Secretary Day, it was almost (I said: ?almost?) embarrasing to be needing a huge cardboard box to carry all of my Secretary Day stuff out of the medical center? People (read: the hot ass cops) were staring at me!!! The only one that refuses to get caught in the commercial crap of it all, is the head of the department and the boss I primary work for. He?s fighting off remarks from his colleagues with the following statements, at hearing distance from me:
Boss to colleague-boss 1: ?I?d rather show my appreciation on a day I choose myself?
DutchBitch: *cough*cough* *scraping throat* ?Yeah right? Will we be notified which day that will be? ?Cause I sure as hell didn?t notice any of those in the past 9 years?
Boss to colleague boss 2: “Every day is Secretary Day to me”
DutchBitch: *SNORT* “Uh-Hu” *rolling eyes at him* “See those eyes rolling at ya? Those nevah gonna turn into batting eyelashes until you put your money where your mouth is”
Still, he’s a good guy. I wouldn’t be working for him for 9 years if he wasn’t. Anyway, my “harvest” for the day were 5 bunches of flowers and a cookbook, yesterday… Kinda cool, right? My house now looks like a flowershow! I love it! Oh, and the book? It is entitled “Hoge hakken in de keuken”, meaning “High Heels In The Kitchen”. It was given to me by one of my brandnew female bosses and she couldn’t have thought of a better gift. I LUV cooking and high heels, well… um…, are there any other kind? The book is filled with recipes for dates, hot nights, and “yourself”… It’s great!
That’s all for today… Just leaves me with today’s burning question:
Word…

I forgot what this posting was about. You lost me to Fantasyland when you started in about cooking in high heels…..
