Giving The Brazilian a Dutch

Published by DutchBitch under Boogie Down, Nekkid

Hi Guys! Welcome to my bed… Yup, I am ín bed, slowly and totally relaxed on the way to starting up my Sunday. You are in bed with me while I am writing this post. Is it as good for you as it is for me?

pic1.jpgI was out all day, yesterday, with Carolina to show her some of Dutchyland’s touristic hotspots. Carolina is a researcher from Brazil who recently joined the department to start her PhD thesis research on Thrombosis & Hemostasis. She moved to Dutchyland a few months ago and she will be here for the better part of 4 years.

We had a blast! I think I’ve expanded my circle of friends with a new girlfriend. We haven’t had the chance to get to know eachother that well before, but we did yesterday and we hit it off straight away. It was one of the best days I’ve had in a long time. I also think I’ve “birthed” a brandnew blogger… Not completely there yet, but I’ll keep you posted on that one…

pic2.jpgWeather was wonderful, which was a blessing in itself for a country that seems to be chronically stuck in Fall-weather over the past year or so, and we went to Zaanse Schans and Volendam. We spent the better part of the day outside in the sun and a light breeze, talking, taking pics, watching the view at Zaanse Schans, climbing to the top of a windmill, buying our boss the corniest gift we could find (a snowcone with a windmill in there, which will be mandatory to be on his desk 24/7), taking a boattour along the Schans, having coffee, visiting some sights over there, eating a pancake, laughing, chatting some more, noticing that we let a great photo-opportunity flash by because of our chatting, having a drink in Volendam and walking thru the old fishermantown’s streets, taking more pictures. We were being full blow professional tourists, you would be so proud of us!

At the end of the afternoon we returned to my appartment to have a drink and decide where to have dinner. We decided on beachbar “Bloomingdale” at the seaside in beachtown Bloemendaal. We got ourselves one of the loungebeds looking out over the beach, where the sun was setting, and the sea. I am not really attached to my hometown or any other town I lived in, but Sheesh! how I LUV the beach and the sea. Not particularly to spend the day getting a tan (I have too much energy in my Dutchy-ass to lie down on it quietly all day, too restless for that), but just the feel of it, the scenery… Aahhhhhhhh… *Le Sigh*

pic3.jpgWe ordered a rosé wine and some bread with tapenade and aioli… It was hea-ven-ly! We put our asses down on the bed, sipped our rosé’s, had a bite of bread, sighed… and then I felt the uncontrollable urge to state: “Life Sucks, right?” and we laughed! Hard! Oh, and the ENORMOUS seagull that landed on our bed liked the bread with tapenade too. I think he did, as he took a huge chunk out of it and then flew off! Fuckingassholecrapbuggerbird! Shit! I’m sure it was a guy-bird!

At some point I looked over the beach in total bliss and noticed people still swimming in the sea. Dutch Sea is COLD! It’s a miracle there’s no icebergs in there… I think we must have had penguins and polar bears over here at some point but they somehow went extinct… Probably were made into crazy fucked up sextoys for needy Dutchy chicks… Anyway, just as I was contemplating hów crazy those people swimming must be one came walking out of the sea…OMFG… Did I just see? … *squint*… Is he not wearing any?… *focussing*… WTF? Is that bush showing up?

*turning to Carolina*
DB: “OK… that guy is either wearing really nasty swimwear, or he’s naked…
*Carolina squinting*…
C: “Yup, he’s naked
DB: “Oh, ok, that’s what I thought
*sipping some more rosé*

pic4.jpgOMFG! I have no problem with nudity but to haul your nasty body out of the sea in the nude in front of hundreds of restaurant guests… That’s just attention whoring…

Well, that was my day yesterday. Pics are up on FlickR in a minute, just click the badge in the sidebar. Once I have Carolina’s pics I will add them on there as well. Now I gotta drag my nekkid ass into the shower and get up already. It’s 11.30 a.m. and I’m expected to be at my neighbour/girlfriend’s place at 2 p.m. for whatever we’ll be doing today on our lazy Sunday. Only 2.5 hours to get ready! Thank God I got myself a new iron yesterday in Volendam. The other one exploded on me on Fridaynight. I guess it was not in the stars on Fridaynight. I wasn’t meant to be ironing at that time and place… Gah!

Dutch-A-Pimpin’ - My Blog Is About Nothing

I was actually gonna call this post “Untitled” as it really is about Nothing… Well, Nobody, really…

nobody2.jpgMy 2nd bitch in the Dutch-A-Pimpin’ campaign is Nobody, from East Undershirt, US of A. His blog My Blog Is About Nothing has been around for a few years and you should really check it out if you haven’t before…

Why? Well, ehm… well, cuz… ehm… it’s about nothing… And it has really interesting ehm… somethings about nothing… and cuz… Nobody fairly always has nothing to say… and… Well… Just Because!

STFU! Becáuse I said so! And we all know who owns your asses, so go over there and check out all there is to know about nothing! You sure ass hell not gonna find a better place to do that! And while you’re there, try to find out what the big deal is about the “1 month and whatever days until Something”… I mean, we can’t have Nobody write about Something on his blog about Nothing! What is the world coming to!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketNow clickedyclick MaBitche’s thumbnail up there in the top right sidebar and go say “Hi”to Nobody… Or just lurk and don’t say anything at all, suit yourselves… Sheesh! Don’t mind the stiletto heel marks in his good-for-nuttin’ ass… I kicked his butt for sitting back and doin’ nothing while I was sweating away to write this post…

Anyone interested in being featured next (well, there is one person in line, but after thát), check out the Dutch-A-Pimpin’ page, email me and let me know. I’m off showing a Brazilian girl around Dutchyland!

This ‘n That

Laci is my hero! She offered to transfer my posts from the old blog over to my current one. I tried once before, ‘cuz Wordpress has this really handy Export/Import feature, but it didn’t work because apparently I’ve been too busy a girl on the old blog. The file was too big to import into the current blog… Laci worked at the files, cut them up in pieces and transferred them over here. So I am whole again! Thanks, Lace! Scandalous Bitch, you! Muah Muah Muah!

niceaward.jpgLibragirl ánd Lucy nominated me for the Nice Matters Award *blush*. You are too kind! Thanks Honz! I can now nominate 7 other people to pass the award on to and *drumroll* here they are: Laci, metalmom, Jane, Blonde Blogger, Lucy, Tracy, and Fab! This award is for those bloggers who are nice people, good blog friends and those who inspire good feelings and inspiration. Also for those who are a positive influence in our blogging world. Once you’ve been awarded, please pass it on to 7 people who you feel are deserving.

It’s been decided where we are going on Saturday. I am out for the day with one of our new foreign researchers, Carolina, from Brazil. She’s only been in Dutchyland for a few months and I offered to take her anywhere she’d like. We are going HERE and HERE. We’ll be visiting two of the most popular touristic spots in Dutchyland. Carolina wants to visit the Dutchyland she knows from postcards and that’s what she’ll get. Yes: I will bring my camera and there will be pictures posted.

Amsterdam again turned out to be the most multicultural city in the world. There are 177 different nationalities living in the city!!! Considering that the city measures 219 square km (84.5 square miles) and has about 1,3 million inhabitants… 177 nationalities is a shitload! Last year it counted 176 nationalities, but apparently a person from Malawi took up residence in the city and pushed it up to 177. And that is only the registered inhabitants! We’re not even counting the illegal aliens living there. Antwerp (Belgium) came in 2nd with 164 nationalities and New York came in 3rd with 150 different ones.

I got my yearly review over dinner with The Chief on Monday. We’ve been trying to set a date for my review, but I kept being bumped for more important visitors at the office *grump*, so I twisted his arm to do it in his summer vacation. We had dinner at an Argentinian restaurant and filled in the review form in between the empanadas and the rib eye. My review was rated “functioning exceptionelly well”!!! And I was granted permission to do a university level personal training in “Advanced Managament Support” which I’ll be starting in October. It’ll be a personal training to develop my skills and be (even) more pro-active and to allow me to also brainstorm and work with the management staff in management decisions and department policy. It just sucks that the medical center has set names for my job and keeps insisting in calling it management-assistant/secretary, while I’ve looooong outgrown that… hatandscroll.jpgSo having a certificate in “Advanced Management Support” at university level will be a good thing to put on my CV! I haven’t done any training for 7 years. Last thing I did was pre-uni level “Middle Management”. So -though it will be tough to study vigorously for 6 months next to taking care of The Kid and my fulltime job- I am really looking forward to it (and shitting my pants ‘cuz it is really a “personal” training and I will be in a small class with only 10 people… Help!)

The Kid is spending 3 weeks with The Ex. I am missing him like crazy. I told him before he left that he could call me anytime he felt like it. He did, last night… It broke my heart… He had this squeeky voice telling me “he wanted to come home and be with me”. I had to tell him that that would be another 12 nights… I did my utmost to do the “we’ll think of eachother and be together in our minds” stuff and the “12 nights will be over before you know it” stuff… And then I tried to divert the conversation to the fun stuff he did with his dad. He recited virtually the whole of the Simpsons Movie to me and we laughed… and then he went back to “I want to come home, Mom”… *Sigh* I had a hard time balancing validating his emotions and being sensible… He wants to be home, I want him to be home, and he’s with The Ex for another 12 days… When I put down the phone I cried… I am such a wuss…

I got the hugest zucchini evah from my Mom’s vegetable garden yesterday. So I dug into my recipes and used my dad’s Zucchini Soup one. I poored myself a chilled rosé, rolled up my sleaves (well, metaphorically, as I was wearing a Tshirt) and made a whole batch of it! Tasting it brought me back to my childhood! Anyone?

Last but not least… I was thinking… as it seems to be the popular thing to do on so many other blogs… Why isn’t anyone ever fighting over being the first to comment on my blog? Seriously! It appears to be a huge deal on some other blogs, but there is nevah “FIRST!” on mine in the comments section… I feel a tad discriminated… *snort*

That was it for now… I can’t think of anymore to tell you. I’ll be off to the office now… Ugh… Wish me luck!
