The other day, like it does every once in a while, my laptop froze…
So I turned it off to reboot, júst when The Kid walked into the room…
The Kid: “What are you doing?”
DutchBitch: “Ehm… I am just rebooting my laptop”
The Kid: “What is rebooting?”
DutchBitch: “That’s turning your laptop off because it got stuck or you installed something and then turning it on again so it will start working again”
The Kid (in awe): “You mean you just turned OFF your laptop?”
DutchBitch: “Errr… yep”
The Kid: “I have NEVER EVER seen you turn off your laptop, Mom”
Ahem… Yeah… well, in my defense… I DO turn it off at times… sorta… when it freezes the hell up on me… or when I leave for the office… I do! I do! I do!!!
I DO!
Sure you do! The Kid just hasn’t seen it.

I am totally the same way!! My laptop never gets turned off unless it’s getting really slow or it crashes on me. It’s just handy to leave it on … then I never miss messages and my downloads can go 24/7 :P

I have a brand new computer that turns back on in about 5 more seconds than if I put it to sleep, but I don’t turn it off much. I prefer to be able to wake it from sleep. Not like it matters, turning it on and off a lot isn’t better for it as long as your battery is conditioned properly.

Bwah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!! HHH goes to bed after me, so he usually turns the laptop off before bed, but the minute I am up in the morning, it goes right back on.

Nope.. rebooting DOES NOT equal “turning off” the darn thing is still cycling so that means it’s still on. Don’t worry Dutchie… you STILL haven’t turned off your laptop, I promise. :)
And let’s not get into those naughty pics you do on your webcam for The Guy… we all know that your laptop is always eager for the next installation of “Dutchie bares all” hee..hee… so definitely no turn offs there.
