5 questions – DutchBitch edition

Ok, so I thought I’d jump on the “5 questions” bandwagon and I had Penelope think of 5 questions for me. And I guess I should now reply to them, so here goes.

1. What are the best and worst things about living in DutchyLand?

Umm… see, this is exactly why I shouldn’t have done the 5 questions thing with Penelope, because her first question is TWO questions already… *rolling eyes*.

OK, lemme see. Best thing(s): I like the down to earth tolerant nature of most Dutch people (STFU, I said “most”) and the fact that we have a very multicultural society (177 different nationalities in Amsterdam alone). Also I like the fact that Dutchyland is small and you can get around easily. Worst thing(s): err… if I had to say anything I think the totally unpredictable weather and traffic clogging up more and more (which makes getting around less easy) . Other than that I really like living here.

2. If you could do 1 thing differently from 2008 what would it be?

Whew… just one thing? Errr… Sheesh, I really don’t know. Nothing really. There’s shit happening in everyone’s life and though I had some shit happening this year, I never really regret anything looking back… There’s some things that have happened to óther people that I would’ve preferred not to have happened, though…

3. What single piece of advice would you give The Kid on his 18th birthday?

Other than the usual “don’t smoke, don’t do drugs, don’t have unprotected sex, respect your mother and fellow man, etc” cuz those are obvious, right? Well, aside from the regular stuff my piece of advice to The Kid would be “do NOT ever think that when being an adult you can still do everything you were able to do as a kid, that you would have the same skills and “limberability”. Won’t work. I have a loooot of experience in that area, making a total fool out of myself.

4. When I get over to visit you, where would you take me for our big girl’s night out?

Well, obviously we would start our night having dinner at FEBO. Cuz seriously, Dutchyland is the ONLY country in the world where you can eat out of the wall and you need that experience. Besides, their kroketten are awesome. Then we’d buy a couple of bottles of wine, take a blanket and go to the Vondelparc in Amsterdam to lie down in the grass, flush down the FEBO kroketten and look at all the wanna-bee hippies in the parc and the hot rollerbladers rolling by (cuz obviously it’s summer and great Western European weather and though we’re both taken we can still lóók at hot bods, right?). Then when we’re totally relaxed and still all hot looking we’d stiletto ourselves into the city center, find a great pub and get more shitfaced and then we could obiously afford a taxi to take us home.. where there’s more wine… Sorta summin like that… OK?

Gawd that’s an easy one: The Guy! Ha! :inlove:

Let’s see who wins, I left a challenge with SJ at Pseudotherapy to interview me last Wednesday or Thursday and I haven’t heard anything. So can you whip out (heh heh) five questions for me sooner?

I knew Dutchyland wasn’t all tulips and wooden shoes! Especially after viewing those Amstel Light commercials, particularly the one with the dude hanging onto a lamppost and doing some crazy moves with a soccer ball!

(Don’t know what I’m talking about? Go the site and enter your age as over 21. Then click on “Our City” and check out the TV ad.)

So you forgot to mention that everyone drinks Amstel Light (not sure if that’s a “best thing” or “worst thing”), but you definitely forgot to mention the obsession with soccer — that’s right, soccer, not football! That would be a “worst thing.” You know I’m totally kidding!

Not sure if I’m brave enough to be interviewed…

You know… I would LOVE for Santa to bring “The Guy” to you, but do you really think he’d like the trip in Santa’s bag? All those toys poking him in the butt? :giggle: :giggle:

Barb: LOL I don’t belong to the Amstel Light crowd. I HATE beer…. and “Light” beer is not that popular over here to be honest. Considered kinda wimpy by most beer drinkers, LOL

Cinnkitty: He bettah be prepared to suffer through that for me!!! Gah! :inlove:
