Mah Cell Bebeh Is Back!

Mah Honey Bebeh Cell Phone is back from repairs. That constitutes the last material part of the Week From Hell fixed. The car is fixed, the phone is fixed. And I am ecstatically happy to have it back. I mean ya know… it was like “camping out with the bare necessities” using that replacement phone.

And can I just say that the Cell Phone Insurance Company is a bunch of totally inadequate brainless farty fucktards!? They are…

The cellphone was delivered at my appartment yesterdaymorning. Now, if you remember me posting about it before: I am insured against theft of and damages to my cellphone that are not covered by the regular warranty. The package had my cellphone with a fixed screen (I cracked it dropping it on the tarmac), the charger, some paperwork AND AN INVOICE FOR 77 EURO (91 US$) FOR THE REPAIRS!!! WTF?

Heeeellllll Nooooo!!!

I called the insurance company to get an explanation on thát… They told me that damages due to dropping the phone were not insured and that, as I had agreed upon the estimate (Um… No… I was never asked about any estimate), the invoice was now mine to pay *blank stare*. Yeah. so I AGAIN pointed out their own insurance papers to them and read the part to the Customer Service guy that actually says that I AM in fact insured for it. After going back and forth with his manager I finally came out on top: I can send the invoice to the insurance company as in fact THEY are supposed to pay for it.

I then checked the rest of the paperwork that stated that I needed to check my cell phone to see if it was properly working again, and if so, I needed to send back the replacement phone within 3 days. So as I had to go out to run some errands anyway, and am working the rest of the week, I took the phone to the post office straight away. I presented the package, and the insurance’s “complimentary postage fee sticker”… Yah, that would be a “complimentary postage fee sticker” that is not valid at the post office… Because it actually has the date of the day they sent that to ME on it… Which would be November 10…

Soooo, I got back on the phone with Customer Service guy and explained the new fucked up situation to him. That the post office was not accepting the postage sticker. Yeah… it was a “known problem” with them and well… he really didn’t have any other solution than that I would pay for the shipping myself. Which would be 8 euros (9.50 US$). Can you say “Helllllll Nooooo!!!” again? I told him that that was NOT gonna fly. That they would either lift the “return within 3 days-rule”, get me a valid sticker thru the mail and have me send it off with that. OR I would pay for the shipment today BUT send the paperwork to them and they would reimburse me. This too took some negotiating with “managers” (they are probably the busiest people of the insurance company, with the customer service peeps), but I won thát battle as well.

I have the distinct feeling that this insurance company is just hoping for ignorant, illiterate, stoopid and/or lazy people who will just bend over and have their asses whipped and pay for all that shit…

Well, they fucked with the wrong chick this time. I only have my ass whipped during *cough* Me is no paying for something I specifically took out insurance for. Puh! I am pretty sure I am on the insurances black list by now but I don’t give a fuck. I PAY you fuckers to help me out! So you bettah work it when I call on you!

Oh well, at least I’ve got my beautiful Nokia E71 back… Me is happy girl!

:crutches:

That sounds like the health insurance people over here. You pay all kinds of money, but when you need to use it, they try everything possible to cheat you out of it.

Insurance companies are run by demonic bastards.

All insurance companies do that. You pay it for years and years and then when you actually need it they either drop you or try to make you pay tons of $. I think because the world is full of mindless idiots, they bank on that and try to screw EVERYONE over not counting those of us with actual grey matter up in our skull that know better and will fight tooth and nail to get what we rightfully deserve. You go DutchBitch! :whip:

Second — Seems to me that you’ve spent SO much time with these Insurance fuckers that you would be better off not bothering. But then, if you are like me, you actually ENJOY the adrenaline rush of gearing up for a fight with customer service. ha..ha.ha..

This is the second cell-phone-insurance “scam” I’ve read about in two weeks.

Good for you for not taking things lying down.

(Does “Mah Honey Bebeh Cell Phone is back from repairs” sound like an Amy Winehouse lyric to anybody else but me?)

Why do these insurance companies always seem surprised when they actually have to pay for something? If it didn’t cover dropping the phone, what the hell did it cover? Flood?

Good for you for fighting! :mob:

But on another note…it’s SNOWING on your blog!!! LOVE it! :santa:

Ever notice how friendly and accommodating they are when you’re signing up… and what assholes they become when you have a claim? I hate those people, for building an entire industry on fear and lies…
