Gravity – Symbian Twitter app

I had been looking for a nice Twitter app for my Nokia E71 (symbian 60 platform) cell phone. I couldn’t find any, until thru Twitter, one of our Dutch DJ’s set me on the trail of Gravity.

MobileWays released the first version of Gravity on Monday. I downloaded the trial version and I love it! So I have now bought the full version (it’s only 8 euro’s, and it’s worth it, I think) for use on my phone. I don’t like paying for apps usually, but I had been so dying for a nice cell phone Twitter app, that I decided to get this one.

I do realize that if you use internet on your mobile, it is possible to use the Mobile lay out of Twitter itself, but it’s so basic, it’s not even funny anymore and I just don’t like it. It’s slow, and very limited. There’s other Twitter apps for symbian phones but they are all built in Java. This one is the first one that works on the symbian platform which makes it much prettier and faster!

Gravity offers you basically all the stuff that many of the great iPhone/iTouch Twitter apps offer you as well: your timeline with all of your friends in it, your replies, your DM’s, a list with the people you follow, a list with the people that follow you and the ability to Twitter, reply and DM to everyone in your list. It supports multiple accounts, Twitter Search, TwitPic and has a sleek interface. It’s all neatly stored in different “tabs” and well, I just like it.

One personal fav on Gravity? Go to Settings in the app, click “View” and click “Change Theme”. I think the darker version of the theme is much classier than the standard one.

Oh and just so you know, this was NOT a sponsored post, as I don’t do those on my blog. Just wanted to share… ya know… tech stuff…
