The other day I was following something on Twitter that peaked my interest as I had never heard of it before. So I “Googled that Shit” as one is supposed to do in those instances…
Do people really seriously actually eat this!?!
Motherfuckinggoddamncrapsheez-eeeewwwww!!!
You have GOT to be kidding me!

OMG!!! I used to eat them all the time! Lived off them when I was poor! Add some spices, cheese and buttered bread on the side and you got yourself a heart attack waiting to happen!

Well, I am sure if there is no alternative, one will eat that but it still doesn’t appeal to me…

Sadly, this (and others like it) is the staple food of the elderly poor in this country. It is actually cheaper that some brands of dog food but it is not as healthy as dog food would be.

OMG That’s awful!!!

Only children really like it. The sauce has a sweetness to it. I can’t even open a can – the smell makes me want to barf! But, the small fry dig it. Ack!

We have canned pasta products, and they just give me (bad) chills

I used to love it before I acquired a taste for real tomato sauce.

Haha. I know exactly the Twitter conversation you were following. :)
I LOVED Spaghettios as a kid and about a month ago bought a can to relive that and expose them to G-tot. He REFUSED to eat them and when I started I knew why. They are just not good anymore.
You aren’t missing anything dear. ;)

Otherwise, no.

I cannot believe you’d never heard of it!!! Kids here LOVE it. Well some do. I used to eat it all the time when I was little. My favorite was the kind that had cut up hot dogs in it.

OMFG cut up hot dogs? You mean there are more yucky version of this?!?!

Uh, yeah. I love Spaghettio’s. I buy them for my kids and end up eating them myself. I’m surprised my son was not born all round and covered in sweet red sauce because ate a can of Spaghettio’s several times a week while I was pregnant with him.
I seem to be in the minority here, but I totally
them.

Well, I have tried similar canned pasta products and they were all equally yucky. Then again, I really don’t like canned products at all much.

I love them better than the real thing!

“The neat round spaghetti you can eat with a spoon
Uh-oh Spaghetti-Os.”
There was a bit more to the song and then a big finish that went, “Franco-American, uh-oh Spaghetti-Os.”
It looks like Campbells owns the brand now.
And, while I remember the commercial, and most of the song, I can’t say I’ve ever had a can of them.

You’ve only just come across those? Wow. I’m in my 30s and ate them (and Heinz baked beans) for most of my childhood. I’d still be eating them, but where I am right now it’s about 2 euros a can which is highway robbery.
Perfection: Two slices of toast, side by side in a bowl. Heat up a can of spaghetti hoops (or beans, either is good). Dump that on top of the toast. On top of that, serious amounts of cheddar. I mean it, like half a pack. The whole lot goes under the grill until the cheese is nicely melted. A bit of pepper on top (normal or chili depending on taste), a tiny “hint” of rosemary. If you’re looking for the max effect, don’t forget a sprig of parsley. Because… I dunno. Everything seems to be served with one piece of parsley on it. Why? Does Jamie Oliver do this? Whatever, parsley. One itty-bitty bit.
Tuck in, enjoy, gain several pounds, clog your arteries. YUMMY!
