Perfection: Two slices of toast, side by side in a bowl. Heat up a can of spaghetti hoops (or beans, either is good). Dump that on top of the toast. On top of that, serious amounts of cheddar. I mean it, like half a pack. The whole lot goes under the grill until the cheese is nicely melted. A bit of pepper on top (normal or chili depending on taste), a tiny “hint” of rosemary. If you’re looking for the max effect, don’t forget a sprig of parsley. Because… I dunno. Everything seems to be served with one piece of parsley on it. Why? Does Jamie Oliver do this? Whatever, parsley. One itty-bitty bit.

Tuck in, enjoy, gain several pounds, clog your arteries. YUMMY!

There was a bit more to the song and then a big finish that went, “Franco-American, uh-oh Spaghetti-Os.”

It looks like Campbells owns the brand now.

And, while I remember the commercial, and most of the song, I can’t say I’ve ever had a can of them.
