Suckage Wednesday
Goddamn, yesterday was NOT my day. I was working from home and got called into the office. Then I picked up The Kid who informed me that he was spending the afternoon at a classmates place. I picked him up at 4 p.m. as I told him I would… and then the best part of my day started
* insert sarcasm *
I rang the doorbell at his friend’s place where it turns out they had spent all afternoon without his parents being home. Two unsupervised 11 year olds. Something The Kid neglected to inform me about. Then, telling him to pack up his stuff and move it, I got an a.t.t.i.t.u.d.e!!! MotherFuck! Then I find out, while talking to him in the car on the way home that he had smuggled his cellphone (that he’s not allowed to have with him on schooldays unless we decided upon him bringing it for some reason) out of the house in the morning. Actually hid it from me and snuck it out of the house. And then, getting home, talking about when to start dinner he informs me that “Oh, him and his classmate had gotten some take out while he was there so he wasn’t that hungry“. Something he is also not allowed to do, and he knows it. Then he’s supposed to do his homework and turns out he forgot his homework stuff at school…
* SIGH *
You can all now stand up and say “Hello” to early puberty at DutchBitch Casa and it ain’t me that is suffering from it… I grounded him for the rest of the week. He can bloody well spend his afternoons doing his homework and spend some time withóut his Nintendo DS. Judging from his facial expression when I told him, that is a good punishment.
And to top it off there was a 109 EURO speeding ticket waiting for me in my mailbox when I got home. I know, it’s my own stupid fault, but with the shit I had dumped on me earlier that day and my current financial situation, I could’ve done without that one…
I hope today is better…
UPDATE: today is not any better. Just found out The Kid actually had the nerve to go for a playdate with the very same classmate of yesterday, without informing me, without having done his homework… He is SO in for huuuuggeee punishment and endless lecture when I go home in an hour! Steam is coming out of his Mom’s ears right now…

I don’t know if being grounded is the same over there in Dutchyland, but when I was a kid it meant total confinement! If I were to step one toe outside the door I’d be dead meat!!
