Staying Put!
I was going to go away to Schiermonnikoog for a few days as The Kid was dying to go away for a few days. And the hotel that I visit annually with the department to do our Epidemiology course had a room left at a nice special rate.
But driving around on Sunday in the snow and the weather forecast expecting roads to thaw and then freeze up again early morning, I have decided to not risk our lives and limbs and we’re staying put at home. My car is not equipped to drive in these circumstances and the 2.5 hour drive would probably turn into a 6 hr one as traffic is moving slow, getting stuck, accidents happening and the risk of getting stuck on the roads on the way back as Tuesday they are expecting more snow…
We were very much looking forward to it. Both going away for a few days and seeing the peeps at the hotel again, but staying on the island and having fun for 2 days is just not worth the hassle and potential danger. Damn! I need a big ass SUV with snow tires and shit… Maybe I should put a PayPal donation badge in my sidebar?
Well, we will have fun anyway. We are snuggled up on the couch with Ms Kitty, dvd’s, Christmas treats and the shops at walking distance, so we will be just fine and have a good time!

Awww…so sorry you had to cancel…darn weather. I live near Boston and we recieved 15 inches of snow this weekend…luckily no major travel plans to get cancelled. Looks really Christmas like now!

Just about an hour ago — and this is totally unrelated to your post — I was at the mall and saw a woman that made me stop and ask myself “where do I know her from?” And then it hit me that it was Dutch Bitch.
Of course it wasn’t. But, they say we all have a twin. If you’re curious about where yours is (or, where she was earlier today), it’s Tuttle Mall in central Ohio.
