Yep, peeps. Midlife Crisis Blogging at The Dutch Files is to commence today, as yours truly has turned the big 4.0. today!
I will be off for a birthday dinner tonight, with The Mom, The Sis, The BIL, The Lill Niece and The Littler Niece AND…
* drumroll *
The Kid! Even though he is spending a 1.5 week midterm break with his dad I get to take The Kid to my birthday dinner as well. That might sound weird to some people, like a total “Duh” thing, but we try to not break up the routine of a stay at one parent for activities with the other parent. Mostly because we’ve learned that this way it works best for The Kid. However, we made an exception this time for my 40th birthday dinner. I am picking him up at the end of the afternoon, take him to the dinner with me, he will stay here overnight and goes back to his The Ex’s tomorrow morning. Best Birthday Present Ever! I am so happy he will be home for a day as I am missing him like crazy!

Of course, on this day, we are all missing someone else like crazy as well. My birthday will always be connected to the day that Lisa passed away. I will never forget about that. Ever. So in the midst of all the birthday fun I will be thinking of her, The Dude and her beautiful daughters.
