I am loving this website by the Dutch Bird Protection Foundation. The website is called “Experience Spring” and on there, for the 2nd (or 3rd, I forget) year in a row they have set up webcams at several bird’s nests so you can follow the progress in the nests in real time online.
There’s cams at nests of a little owl (steenuil), a kestrel (torenvalk), an eagle owl (oehoe), a great tit (koolmees), a stork (ooievaar), a barn swallow (boerenzwaluw), a barn owl (kerkuil) and a European nuthatch (boomklever).
It’s really cool to watch every now and then. The storks are most active right now. They already have 4 eggs. Most of the owls are at their nest already as well and the eagle owl has already hatched out some eggs and it’s chicks have already been spotted a few times.
I follow them on Twitter so I get the “breaking” news as soon as eggs hatch or there is chick-sightings.
Yeah, I know… I’m a dork. But I don’t care. I love this stuff.

I never tire of watching great tits.

Well, you know to paraphrase Ron White: “Once you’ve seen a great tit, or a pair, you pretty much want to see them all.”
