Project Dutchy Spring – April 17
It’s that time again: a new issue of Project Dutchy Spring 2010. In Field #1 the daffodils are in full bloom. Field #2 is not blooming yet. Looks like they are going to be daffodils as well. And #3 is a bit of a brainbreaker. It may be that this field is in “relax mode” and left to recover for a year. I am not at all sure that something is in there at all. Sometimes, after a few years of use, the fields will be left empty for a year, so the soil and such can recover. We’ll see.

I passed some other fields that had tulips already blooming and another one that was full of wonderfully honeysweet smelling hyacints (I wish there was such a thing as scent-blogging, cos it smells wonderful).
There’s more pics I took. Some of the ones up here and a few extra will be on my photoblog DutchBitch View. The full sets will be on FlickR.

Project Dutchy Spring 2010 – March 25
It’s almost end of March already (gawddamn, where does the time go?) and so as I promised to try something twice a month as far as Project Dutchy Spring 2010 is concerned, it’s that time again. In Field #1 the flowers are coming up already. I think it will be daffodils and in 2 weeks time I will probably be able to show you them in full bloom. Field #2 and #3 will be a tad longer wait. Hopefully in about 2-3 weeks something green will be starting to show there.

There are fields in bloom already: pic 4 and pic 5 show a daffodil field and a crocus field (the latter being very rare in this area, btw) in full bloom. It all started earlier this week and there is a flutter of Spring in my heart since I saw that.
Pic 6 shows a close up shot I took on Field #2: there is a little bit peeking out of the dirt there. Not sure if it is the start of a new field of flowers or a left over of last year, a stray bulb, which also sometimes happens. I guess we’ll know in a few weeks!

New new new!!!
I am in an (almost) Spring kinda mood. I am in a cleaning and renewal mood. Not only in my personal life but online as well.
The other day, when I tried to come to terms with the fact that I had possibly lost the blog and had to start all over again… *cough* not that I was panicking or anything *cough*… I started looking for possible new themes to tweak into a new template for The Dutch Files. I didn’t want a complete change, as I think my header is the identifying part of the theme, so that one had to stay. But I wanted a bit of a change…
When it turned out that the blog was saved from hell and damnation (and disappearance) I decided to go ahead and do some change and Spring cleaning on the blog. So I messed with a new theme a bit, cleaned out some pages, and sidebar widgets, tried some new plugins, chucked out some plugings, stuff like that… It’s not a major big *gasp* kind of a change but good enough for now… And the background matches my hair color! Very important, of course, LOL
I also changed the theme for the photoblog DutchBitch View (The DutchBitch Photoblog). Especially as I’ve started a new photoseries “Project Dutchy Spring 2010” and also the new lenses that I ordered for my camera (a set of close up lenses and a fish eye lens) will be arriving soon and I hope to start doing more photography… I love this minimalist new all white theme so much! It’s going to be a pleasure posting on there.
And then I cleaned out and re-organized my feed reader as a last project.
So there you go: all new and improved and I didn’t even fuck any of it up! Feels kinda good… I am ready to have Spring start for real now… Ya know… including matching sunny days and temperature…
You want to see this! Trust me…
I am not a particular SciFi fan. I am also someone who usually has a tendency of staying away from “hypes”, but as this one had sparked my interest and The Kid and I needed a our Christmas Break to lift off with a whopping start, I went to see Avatar in 3D yesterday and it is BY FAR one of the most amazing movies I EVER saw…
Good story, great visuals, and it has even -for now- restored my faith in seeing movies in 3D.
If you like this kinda thing, you want to see this one, IN the cinema, IN 3D if you have a chance. Trust Dah DutchBitch on this one…
