After finishing all the necessary pre-summer break office work yesterday, finding out that both bosses that said they might be in the remainder of this week had decided against that, having done all the filing and other chores around the office, and being ready to blow my own brains out by now…

I am having my summer break start a few days early…

Well, sort off. I have asked permission to finish the last part of work from home, which I was granted. And I promised that if I NEED to be in the office I will be available to go in for a few hours (if reaally necessary)

So there: from today on my working-from-home-sort-of-holiday has commenced! And from Saturday on, when The Kid is back home with me, my “real” summerbreak is SO on!

After weeks and weeks (and weeks) of not feeling good, and consequently eating away my emotions…

I finally managed to get a grip and my body is back to where it used to be before.

And I can finally button up my pants again without having to gasp for breath.

Yay!

Yes, Lady Penelope is turning That-Last-Year-Before-Turning-40 today!

I forget how many times we met up. I think it’s about 5 times by now (Sept ’08, Feb ‘ 09, March ’09, Oct ’09, Jan ’10) and the 6th one is coming up soon in another 2 months and a day, for Bitchsterdam II in June!

She is definetely in the list of coolest people I met thru the internetz, and we always have tons of fun.

Shower!

A real shower. One with hot water for more than 2 mins. You know, as long as you want… long enough to wash every inch of your lucious body… long enough to wash and condition your hair… long enough to shave everything (everything!) that needs shaving… and then some…

OMFG! It had been a week since I had a decent shower and I cannot tell you how wonderful it was to be able to have a decent shower in my OWN fucking house!

Yeah, so you can do away with all those clothespins on yer noses… I washed off all the gunk of the past week. I am clean and smooth and smell nice… for now…

It’s the peeps of the roadside bulb stores. They have started resurrecting their stores again! That means that Spring is on it’s way. That means that Bulb Season is on it’s way. That means that within a few more weeks this place will be waking up from it’s hibernation and will be crawling with tourists again.

This town is coming back to life again. And not a moment too soon. Yay!

I’ve decided with all aspects of my life suffering from serious “busy” I am going to skip posting during the weekends. I will be around, reading blogs, commenting here and there, for sure.

Yes, I know. You “normal” people will go “Umm whut? What’s so great about thát!?“. Yeah, yeah, you guys just don’t get it… but my fellow Shoe-o-philes will immediately recognize the importance and the ultimate satisfaction WE can get out of an app like this. I almost peed in my pants a little when I found it, while scrolling thru the App Store while being bored on the couch last night.

It’s an app that shows you pictures of shoes. Tons of them. And when you click a pic of a pair you like it will give you information on it: materials, retailer, and the one you really actually want to ignore: price. And you can share your finds with your fellow Shoe-o-philes: it allows you to publish your favorites to your Facebook profile! Do I hear Jade and ZenBitch go crazy there with me?

I came across THIS one that made me Shoe-gasm. Truly it did. The price made me plummeth straight down from that high, but I still LOVE the shoes! Love them! And then I came across THESE and the whole process repeated itself again (although a tad less than with the first pair).

And the good thing? Well, it’s really a frustrating thing but judging from the prizes of the shoes that *I* like (like any other shoe-o-phile I of course have expensive taste), it’s probably for the best… Most of the stores won’t ship to Dutchyland, some do but at a huge fee.

That’s it, that I wanted to tell you. I will be off drooling over iShoe’s shoe pics some more now…

Yes, The Kid and myself will be kicking back for 3 days (well technically half a day, then a whole day and then half a day again) at Disneyland Paris, The Walt Disney Studios and Disney Village in La Douce France! I took him there in the year after I got divorced and he’s been nagging me to get to go back ever since (that’ll be for 7 years now). As I was able to use some left over gift certificates from the 2nd job, I caved recently and booked the trip.

I will be back late Fridaynight. If I can manage I MIGHT post some pics or excerpts of happenings on the blog or via Facebook or Twitter, but don’t hold your breaths for it! If there is no WiFi available there is NO way I am using my Dutch cell phone to do it. That’ll make me go bankrupt… Just sayin’: I LOVE you guys, but not THAT much…
