UPDATE 7 a.m.: Guess I won’t be going out today with a 39 C / 102 F fever. I am off to take The Kid to his dad for the weekend and then back on The Big Red Couch to get better. I NEED to be better tomorrow cos I am helping my (recently divorced) friend Annemieke move house.

This Momma is cooking for everyone on Christmas Day! And after everyone has left she will be packing for her trip!

And Girl! We are surely going to make a date to meet up for dinner in Rotterdam next year (hey, “next year” is only a few weeks away afterall, heh).

Have a great Sunday. I will be relaxing, to be rested for the insanely busy week at the office (last week before Christmas break for me and my bosses) and at home (all kinds of Christmas activities at his school and The Kid’s birthday on Wednesday) coming up, watching the tons of Castle episodes I have left on DVR. I am down to the last 3 (arrrggghhhh!) and the “Angels & Demons” dvd that I borrowed from my sister.

This is my 2nd to last Friday AT the office of the year. Just one more week from hell to go at the office, with tons of extra stuff happening in my 2nd job and at home, but I will prevail in the end!

Today is the last day of this fecking prick of a week in which The Kid and I were sick for days. Wednesday things seemed to be on the mend and I went thru the house like a white tornado to wash the puke and poo smell out of this apartment. Not so lucky with the car though. Can’t get the smell out… Will have to fade… tell me it fades… Please!

The Kid is spending the weekend at his dad’s and tonight I am having The Mom over for dinner tonight and after that we will be visiting the Christmas Fair on the grounds of the Keukenhof Castle. We have been going there for a few years and it’s just fun to get into the whole holiday mood.

Monday I need to finish arranging the depts New Years Reception. I need to have that done before Christmas break as I am only returning from my trip 2 days before that.

Tuesday night I am baking cakes and making treats for The Kid’s schoolfriends to hand out on Wednesday.

Wednesday The Kid is turning 12 (!) and we are having The Mom, The Sis, The BIL, The Lill Niece and The Littler Niece over to celebrate.

Thursday afternoon is The Kid’s school Christmas celebration in the local church and Christmas dinner at school.

And then finally Friday The Kid goes to school for just the morning and Christmas Break is ON!

Even though I will still be working from home the week after, I am glad that a week from now my time AT the office for the year is O.V.E.R. and D.O.N.E. with!

UPDATE 1: OK, so on his own birthday, The Kid’s got a birthday bash of one of his classmates, so his birthday celebrations with the family have been postponed to Sunday Dec 20…

UPDATE 2: The GodMotha a.k.a. The Mom can’t make it on Sunday, so things have been rescheduled to Saturday Dec 19 post-basketball match… Goddammit! How am I supposed to keep up with this ever changing schedule!!!

The Mom is taking all of us on a weekend away because next week she will be turning 65. And seeing as Saturday is Sinterklaas Evening we will be celebrating that as well.

Other than that life is still busy. Yeah, I know, I am boring. Deal with it. I have nothing more for you right now. My head is spinning from everything going on at home and the office. Then again, on the other hand that makes time fly by and every bit closer to Christmas Break!

This is my 3rd day off on Easter Break and I think I am getting the hang of it by now. It’s weird not working, as I have mostly tried to stay away from office email and such, but it’s growing on me. Main reason to do nothing was that I have The Kid at home on Easter Break ánd Dutch weather in the past 2 days has been absolutely wonderful for the time of year (to think that last year on Easter we had snow!). So we’ve been outside, enjoying the sun and warm temps.

Today The Kid and I are having the family over for Easter breakfast: The Mom, The Sis (who is due to give birth in less than 4 weeks!), The BIL, The Lill Niece. Just a nice quiet yummy family Easter breakfast. And then I’ll enjoy my last Easter break day with The Kid. Tomorrow he’s off to The Ex and I will have an additional day off by myself (office still closed till Tuesday). Not sure what I will do on Monday, but we’ll see.
