Almost… allllmooosttt…

I made an executive decision yesterday…

After finishing all the necessary pre-summer break office work yesterday, finding out that both bosses that said they might be in the remainder of this week had decided against that, having done all the filing and other chores around the office, and being ready to blow my own brains out by now…

I am having my summer break start a few days early…

Well, sort off. I have asked permission to finish the last part of work from home, which I was granted. And I promised that if I NEED to be in the office I will be available to go in for a few hours (if reaally necessary)

So there: from today on my working-from-home-sort-of-holiday has commenced! And from Saturday on, when The Kid is back home with me, my “real” summerbreak is SO on!

Hot Hot Hot!

It’s going to be a hot hot hot hot and f*cking humid day in Dutchyland…

It will be around 35 C/95 F today, with 100% humidity

And yes, I know that many of you will be thinking “So what? We deal with that and worse on a daily basis.  Suck it up!”

But you have to understand that this country is not equipped for this

We do NOT have standard a/c in our houses

Nor in our office buildings or shops or malls or anywhere else

I am actually happy to be working today as the medical center fortunately does have a/c

Cos today is going to be a biotch!

Moving House

I am moving house over the weekend. Not myself, I am assisting my recently divorced girlfriend Annemieke move out of her ex’s-home into her new home. The one I was over at a few weekends ago DIY-ing with The Kid.

I am feeling much better, my fever broke in the course of Friday morning and after a good nap at the end of the morning I felt much better. I even squeezed out my 2nd run of the week in the late afternoon and I managed to bake THIS to bring to my girlfriends place as a treat for everyone helping out with the move.

So I will be getting my butt in the car early Saturdaymorning and will be staying overnight to help out some more on Sunday.
